The role

As a Senior Analyst or Advisor in the Resolution team, you will be responsible for contributing to or developing resolution strategies and policy, and providing accurate and timely analysis and advice. The role also includes involvement in or leading the research, development and recommendations of APRA strategies and policies on failure and crisis management, including implementing prudential standards for resolution planning.

The team

The Resolution team has responsibility for all aspects of APRA’s function as a resolution authority, covering the resolution framework policy development and implementation, conducting resolution planning for significant and complex entities, assisting with individual entity recovery and exit plans, ensuring that APRA has effective resolution management processes and procedures, and the administration of the Financial Claims Scheme. The Resolution team liaises closely with relevant entities and other areas within APRA, such as Legal and Frontline Supervisors, and externally, including with the other Council of Financial Regulators agencies.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to or develop and review strategies and policies for resolution planning, balancing between prudential safety and the size and complexity of the institutions supervised;
  • Provide analysis or advice on Australia’s recovery and resolution planning framework, and potential enhancements to it, including maintaining currency with developments internationally;
  • Contribute to or develop policy and planning documentation;
  • Provide well-balanced advice, given the various competing interests often involved in resolution planning;
  • Collaborate with and maintain and develop relationships with a wide range of people across APRA, industry and government; and
  • Be part of an interdisciplinary team supporting entities in stress and/or facilitating orderly resolutions to protect both beneficiaries and the financial system.

          To work with us, you must be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
